Weird Chief Pictures was founded in 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah by award winning filmmaker Iosua Tai Taeoalii (Josh). In its history that has spanned over a decade, it has produced everything from feature films to music videos to Television shows. With it's primary focus on feature film production, WCP has also expanded into distribution of Iosua & Adrienne Taeoalii's original art.


From 2004-2005 Weird Chief Pictures had been primarily producing in television, but in 2006 WCP produced a short film, Waiting which premiered at the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival.

In the beginning of the year of 2005 WCP's founder, Josh, began selling his spray-paint art on eBay and by the end of 2006, WCP had officially started distributing the artworks of Josh and his wife Adrienne Taeoalii.

In 2007-2008 WCP co-produced, in association with SpyHop Productions, it's 3rd feature film, Darkroom.

July 2010 Updates

We're at the 2010 Cherry Creek Arts Festival in Colorado, one of the premier art festivals across the nation.  Come see us July 3-5.

We will be at The Taste of Dallas in Dallas, Texas, July 9th-11th.  "The stars at night are big and bright..."

We'll be at the 2010 Girls Inc. Arts & Crafts show in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Aug. 7th and 8th.  Our first outing to New Mexico, so stop in.

We'll be at the 2010 Milford Memories Summer Festival show in downtown Milford, Michigan, Aug. 13th, 14th, 15th.  Our first time to Michigan, so please visit.

We'll be at the 2010 Frankfort Art Fair show at Market Square Park in Frankfort, Michigan, Aug. 20th and 21st.

We will be at A Taste of Colorado in Denver, Colorado, September 3rd-6th.  Colorado has always been a gracious host.  See ya then.

We're showing at the Castle Rock Art Fest in Castle Rock, Colorado, September 11th and 12th.  Cool town, cool art.

September 25th and 26th we'll be back in the Bay Area for the Polk Street Blues Festival in San Francisco, California.

We have a booth at the Oak Alley Fall Arts/Crafts Festival on the Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, Louisiana October 16th and 17th.  Louisiana has been a dream location for both Ade and I so we're stoked to be headed that direction.


June 2010 Updates

We had a fantastic time at  the 2010 Utah Arts Festival this year.  Thank you for all your support and sharing our visions in your lives.

May 2010 Updates

We'll be showing at the 2010 Boulder Creek Festival in Boulder, Colorado May 29th-31st, with some of our new pieces and all of our pop art originals and prints will be up to 50% off so come out and join us!

Following the weekend of the Boulder Creek Festival we'll be in Denver, Colorado for the 2010 CHUN Capital Hill People's Fair.  Whatever pop art paintings we have left from the Boulder show will continue to be on sale.

This June 13th we'll be in San Francisco for the 33rd Annual Haight Ashbury Street Fair from 11am to 5:30pm.

Weird Chief Pictures' and the producers of the feature film Darkroom have just signed with Circus Road Films to acquire distribution for the film.

We now have art hanging at Pat's BBQ on 2125 south and 100 west, Uprok Records on 300 South and State Street and also 2 pieces hanging at Hemingway Cafe at the Salt Lake City Library.  Stop in either place to check'em out.
