Choke Cherry
by

You
look so full and promising
hanging in the blue sky
visions rubbing my green leaf dreams.
So I put you in my mouth,
tongue rolling to catch sweet water,
but how could I have made this mistake?
Your bitter blood slipped down my chin
'leaves me choking and crying,
rare flesh scheme dropped in dirt
leaving red stains about my lips
and blisters on my fingers. |
