Passed the "Test" by Teine Growing up watching my father beat my mother Brothah’s grew up to beat they baby mama’s Cycle of abuse seen through my sunken-eyez Crying at night wishn’ to die, asking “god” why Did he give me this life of hope-less-ness Then I seen more clearly that “he” blessed me wit’ a “test” ..open ya mind bettah yet open ya eyes Don’t let this time in ya life burn ya in-sidez Time for you to open ya soul n’ get to shining No more hope-less-ness, no need keep cry’n This is why I am a Strong-Samoan-Sistah Open’n my soul through my lyrical-script-tiahz Never will I let any man abuse my skin Lovn’ my-self, respecting the shoes I walk in I been through roads that crossed into no-where Then back to the “light” again know’n that you care ...shedd’n the darkness hovern’ over me Open’n my eyes to the light so I could see Sunshine beaming down on my every step Caress’n the flow’z that I bring with my sweet-lips this goes out to all those feeln’ my pain when I found true love he washed it away like a bliss-ful rain lovn’ the essence he brought, on target straight to my heart known’ from the first his love was the start for a new beginning to let my-self shine cause when we’re together my world is too sublime ..love up-lifted my horizons to see more clear life has trials n’ tribulations so do-not fear your answer is coming look inside ya-self love is already there just bless-ya-self! Look into ya-self and ya shine will open the way Known’ you had it in you but didn’t know how to say The right expression’z to let yo! Wanderin’ Mind know That many people travel on this hea! exact same road You ain’t alone but ya opened up ya beautiful-brown eyes! That you passed the “test” shown’ that you could survive!
